Ⅰ. What to do when installing LED strips?

1. Generally speaking, the voltage of a single LED lighting strip bead is about 1.8-3V, and the general current will be controlled at 18mA-20mA. For different color temperatures and the number of chips, the voltage of each LED lamp bead is different. In the end, a dedicated engineer or technician is required to inspect.

2. There is no label on the lamp to indicate the voltage. If the lamp is transparent glue, when the components inside the lamp body can be clearly seen, it can be judged by the number of lamp beads, resistance, capacitance and other components, and then test the lighting condition of the lamp from low to high voltage. During this period, some electrical measuring tools can be selected to assist the test. If the internal components of the lamp body cannot be seen clearly in the appearance, the LED lighting strip needs to be disassembled for testing.

3. Look at the label on the lamp. Generally, regular LED strip manufacturers will affix a label to indicate the specific parameters of the product before the lamp leaves the factory. We can use the label to see the voltage used by the China LED strips.

4. LED lighting strips are used for wall contour lighting and outdoor screen lighting. For whether the LED lighting strips can be used for curtain wall lighting, users need to express more clearly whether they want to use the LED lighting strip as a curtain wall light. Voltage test must be done to avoid safety emergencies caused by the application of inappropriate LED lighting products.

Ⅱ. What will affect the life of LED strips?

1. Quality of lamp beads

The quality of lamp beads directly affects the service life of LED lighting strips. Lamp beads are composed of a variety of materials with different quality, such as iron brackets, aluminum brackets and pure copper brackets. The heat dissipation of pure copper brackets is better than that of aluminum brackets and iron brackets; Gold wires for internal connection and silica gel materials for packaging are also exquisite. Connecting wires also include gold wires and gold-plated wires. Silica gel materials of different brands vary greatly. A good and stable LED lamp bead must be the most stable with all kinds of materials.

2. The heat dissipation of the aluminum substrate

The heat dissipation performance of the aluminum substrate has a direct impact on a series of issues such as the stability of the material structure of the LED lighting strip and whether the light decay is serious, and it directly affects the quality of the lighting strip. No matter how good the selected lamp beads are, if the heat dissipation cannot keep up, the light of the LED lighting strip will still be attenuated seriously. Therefore, whether the aluminum substrate has high thermal conductivity directly affects the life of the light strip.

3. Driving current during operation

The driving current of LED lighting strip is greater than the rated current, causing serious light attenuation. The lower the driving current, the smaller the heat of LED lighting strip, and the brightness will be relatively reduced. Therefore, some manufacturers pursue high brightness, increase the driving current, and even exceed the rated current that LED lamp beads can bear, so that the heat of LED lighting strip rises sharply. As a result, LED lamp beads are unable to work under high load, and the attenuation accelerates until the lamp dies.
