How to Judge the Quality of LED Strips?

Because of the low barriers to entry for the production of LED light strips, many people are involved in this project. However, experienced people still have a way to identify, the LED light strips produced by regular manufacturers and the fake version of the LED light strips can be seen at a glance from the appearance. Let's talk about how to identify the quality of LED strips by eyes:

1. Look at the solder joints of the LED strip

The LED strips produced by the regular LED strip manufacturers are produced by SMT patch technology, solder paste and reflow soldering process. Therefore, the solder joints on the LED strip are relatively smooth and the amount of solder is not too much. The solder joints extend from the FPC pad to the LED electrode in a circular arc shape. However, the amount of solder in the solder joints of the fake version of the LED strip is uneven, and most of them are covered by a round spot, and there will be different degrees of tin tips. This is a typical phenomenon of manual soldering.

2. Look at the FPC quality of the LED strip

FPC is divided into two types: copper and rolled copper. The copper foil of the copper-clad board is protruding. If you look closely, it can be seen from the connection between the pad and the FPC. The rolled copper is closely connected with the FPC and can be bent at will without the phenomenon of pad falling off. If the copper-clad board is bent too much, the pad will fall off, and if the temperature is too high during maintenance, the pad will fall off.

3. Look at the cleanliness of the surface of the LED strip

If the LED light strip produced by SMT process is clean, the surface is not very clean, and no impurities and stains can be seen. However, if the counterfeit LED strip is produced by hand soldering, no matter how it is cleaned, there will be stains and cleaning marks on the surface, and there will be flux and tin residue on the surface of the FPC.

4. Look at the packaging of the LED strip

The regular LED strips will be packaged in anti-static coils, generally 5 meters per roll or 10 meters per roll, and then sealed with anti-static and moisture-proof packaging bags on the outside. The counterfeit version of the LED light belt will use recycled reel for cost saving, and then there is no anti-static and moisture-proof packaging bag. If you look closely at the reel, you can see that there are marks and scratches left by the label when the label is removed.

5. Look at the label of the LED strip

There will be printed labels on the regular LED light strip packaging bags and reels, instead of printed labels. The copy of the label is printed, and the specifications and parameters are not uniform.

6 Look at the accessories of the LED strip

The regular LED light strips will be accompanied by instructions and light strip specifications in the packaging box, and will also be equipped with a LED light strip connector or card holder; while the cottage version of the LED light strip packaging box does not have these accessories, because after all, some LED light bar manufacturers can save or save.
